Stray kitten finds love and a new home - Heather R

Lolly was barely four weeks old and still nursing when she was discovered living as a stray with her mom and a sibling on the streets of Braintree. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan brought all three cats to the MSPCA-Cape Cod to receive the care that they needed. The veterinary team at the MSPCA-Cape Cod quickly assessed the mom cat and her two kittens and determined that they were all in general good health. Since the kittens were much too young to be separated from mom and placed for adoption, staff at the adoption center found a foster family that was eager to help care for the feline family until the kittens were ready to be adopted. Fast forward five weeks, when Lolly, her mom, and her sibling returned to the MSPCA-Cape Cod for adoption; all three cats were spayed or neutered and received additional vaccines before being placed for adoption. Thanks to our friends at Copeland Subaru Hyannis, who helped us promote pets for adoption throughout October, Lolly met her new adoptive family the day after she returned to the adoption center! Lolly is now known as Cranberry, and her adoptive mom Jaye reports that she is settling in nicely. Jaye shared that Cranberry is full of curiosity and wonder, afraid of nothing, and has even made friends with her two dogs. Thanks to the efforts of many, including the team at Copeland Subaru Hyannis, Cranberry’s future is bright. We’re grateful for their support!

Thank you to Copeland Subaru of Hyannis - Shannon C

Marguerite E. Small would like to thank Copeland Subaru of Hyannis for the generous donation of $3,000 that will be used for the 2022-2023 school year! This donation will fund academic resources needed for our students. Building on our collaborative, team-based approach, our school is determining the specific resources by grade level teams. The early education, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, and related arts/ Star teams have decided to select materials such as math manipulatives, decodable readers, additional literacy resources, adaptable materials, musical instruments, STEM resources and manipulatives, and items for dramatic play! Teams have selected materials that support our students’ social-emotional and physical needs in the classroom, art room, gym, music room, or in the library. With these additional items, we can continue to meet the individual needs of our students and continue to enhance their school experience. This is a welcomed and much appreciated donation and we would like to thank the nonprofit organization of for selecting our school and making this possible! Thank you!

Copeland Subaru Supports Cape Abilities! - Mairead G

As a nonprofit organization, community partners like Copeland Subaru are invaluable to the mission of Cape Abilities. Cape Abilities supports adults with disabilities across Cape Cod, providing opportunities for people of all abilities to live, work, and thrive in our community. In 2021, Cape Abilities supported over 400 individuals through our programs and services. The donation from Copeland Subaru means an investment in the quality of our programs and services. It means making our programs even more person-centered and tailored to the goals of each individual. It means that individuals in our programs will be able to pursue extracurricular activities that help them explore interests, strengthen skillsets, and hone in on career paths. Recently, several individuals in our day program expressed interest in taking music classes. Many of those we support are musically inclined, and use singing, instruments, and radio as a form of self-expression. The ability to pursue opportunities like music classes is possible through the generous support of community partners like Copeland Subaru. As an organization, Copeland Subaru’s longtime support means that we have a reliable and compassionate community partner. These community partnerships are invaluable to our organization, as they not only contribute the essential donations to our programs, they also help broaden the impact of our mission: to create a more inclusive Cape Cod where opportunities are accessible for everyone. Thank you, Copeland Subaru, for helping us achieve this!

Buster Finds a Home - Heather R

Nine year old Buster had been surrendered to the MSPCA-Cape Cod in early July when his previous family had to move to new housing where dogs were not allowed. As a friendly and affectionate dog that enjoyed meeting new people and other dogs, and with a history of living successfully with children, it seemed that Buster should have been quickly adopted. But Buster’s age and his breed (a pit bull type dog) meant that he was frequently passed over by potential adopters. It wasn’t until October, when he caught the eye of John and his family, that Buster finally found his perfect match! Buster celebrated Halloween with his new family, and since then we have received frequent updates. His adopter reports that Buster has settled in to life at home. John’s only complaint? “He took over my favorite chair!” Thank you to Copeland Subaru Hyannis for helping us help animals like Buster on their journey to new lives!
