Compare the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek to the 2024 Honda HR-V in Hyannis, MA
2024 Subaru Crosstrek vs. 2024 Honda HR-V
Cape Cod customers will find that there is plenty of competition among compact crossovers, but Copeland Subaru Hyannis is here to show you how the new Subaru Crosstrek cruises past a fellow subcompact SUV competitor in the Honda HR-V.
MSRP & Value
Did you know the Subaru Crosstrek has the Best Resale Value in its class for five years running, according to Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com? While 2024 model year awards have not been released yet, this is a GREAT track record and we are patiently waiting for the 2024 results! The Honda HR-V may check in with a slightly lower MSRP at $24,100. However, Subaru Crosstrek's best-in-class resale value, affordable starting price ($24,995 MSRP), and a longer list of standard features offer Barnstable buyers more bang for their buck. You might enjoy the Honda HR-V's starting price, but it can't keep up with the Subaru Crosstrek, dollar for dollar.
*Vehicle's projected resale value is specific to the 2019-2023 model years. For more information, visit Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com. Kelley Blue Book is a registered trademark of Kelley Blue Book Co., Inc.

Digital Connectivity
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard on the Subaru Crosstrek and now on the base LX HR-V model. At seven inches (standard) and nine inches (available), Honda's infotainment displays may initially seem impressive. Still, the Crosstrek's standard dual 7.0-inch touchscreen displays and the 11.6-inch display will give you more to work with when you hit the road. You won't get the same accessibility in the Honda HR-V, regardless of the three trim levels you choose. There's far more standard tech equipment in the Crosstrek, which provides Subaru STARLINK® Multimedia with wireless pairing, Sirius XM® Radio, Bluetooth®, and a TomTom® built-in and voice-activated navigation system. Unfortunately for Honda HR-V drivers, no wireless connectivity for your smartphone devices means you'll have to wrestle with a USB cord to enjoy your music.
Safety
Honda's subcompact crossover offers a notable safety suite, Honda Sensing®, now standard on every model in their lineup. Subaru EyeSight®, however, is available on all Crosstrek models and provides Dennis drivers with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management on all models. The Crosstrek also offers Reverse Automatic Braking for its lineup, a feature you can't find in the Honda lineup. The Subaru SUV also enjoys standard LED Steering Responsive Headlights, which curve with the road to keep everything illuminated as you travel twists and turns on Yarmouth roadways. The Honda HR-V doesn't offer this technology for its lineup yet - you'll have to brave those corners as best you can!

Performance
The Subaru Crosstrek is the more efficient SUV and comes standard with Symmetrical AWD, providing an EPA-estimated 27/34 mpg city/highway. The HR-V comes standard with 26/32 mpg city/highway but loses efficiency with AWD equipped, only offering 25/30 mpg. The Honda HR-V is far lower on the road surface, with a ground clearance of only 7.0 inches. The Subaru Crosstrek crushes that ground clearance figure at 8.7 inches. Honda's SUV has real-time all-wheel drive with the Intelligent Control System™, but it's only optional. Subaru's SUV includes standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The Subaru lineup now employs two engine options. It starts with a similar powertrain to the Honda HR-V, which features a 2.0-liter, 158-horsepower engine. While it does hold a slight edge over the Crosstrek's base engine, the Subaru SUV also demonstrates its hunger for adventure with a revamped 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The Honda HR-V has no engine to match this, nor can it deliver efficient performance like the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid. There's a lot more under the hood of the Crosstrek than the new Honda HR-V.
